Empanadas are a sort of fried pastries made from corn flour and filled with minced beef, beef meat, beans, chicken, cheese or a mix of meat and vegetables. It can be eaten as a snack or for dinner. Of course your can add lemon juice to it and sauces like aji. Empanadas are eaten all over Colombia and are really tasty. You don’t even need to look specifically for empanadas, you will not escape trying them. They are sold on street food stands, in restaurants and in bars.
Other Latin American countries also serve empanadas, but those are usually a bit bigger than the Colombian ones.
